The village is located in the Talamanca mountain range near the base of Cerro Tigre "Mountain of the Jaguar," just above the Caribbean coastline.

Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse places on earth; Talamanca is a priority landscape for the Jaguar, Puma, Ocelot oncilla and Margay. Thousands of other exotic life forms make this magical place their home as well.

The Rio Madre de Dios "River of the Mother of God" flows through the village, with multiple tributaries feeding the river's mighty presence.
